The United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child has published a General Comment on children’s rights in relation to the digital environment.

For this, all interested stakeholders were invited to express their views on the concept of the General Comment in March 2019. At the same time, 709 children and young people from 28 countries were consulted. Then, in August 2020, the Children’s Rights Committee invited all interested stakeholders to comment on the draft of the General Comment. On March 24, 2021, the finalized version of the General Comment was published with a glossary, explanatory notes, and a child-friendly version.

The General Comment No. 25 on Children’s Rights in Relation to the Digital Environment is now available in English and German language.
