With the map of children's rights, the monitoring agency of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child of the German Institute for Human Rights shows to what extent individual children's rights are implemented and anchored in Germany's federal states.

You can find overviews of the following areas: Children's rights in the state constitutions and access to schools and day-care centres for refugee children. This map is to be further developed and extended by further rights.

The maps are intended to show whether and to what extent individual rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child are also enshrined in law in the federal states and local authorities. Within the federal structure, children's rights were divided into federal and state responsibilities. Some areas relevant to children's rights are therefore the responsibility of the federal states - e.g. the right to education and some areas which concern children who have fled in particular.

The project Map of Children's Rights is based on a cooperation with the Network Children’s Rights - National Coalition e.V. and Save the Children.

The map is only available in German language.
