African Youth Charter

The African Youth Charter has been ratifed by 39 African countries and entered into force on 8 August 2009. It was commissioned by the African Union Commission.
It provides a framework for youth empowerment and development activities at the continental, regional and national levels across Africa. It addresses key issues affecting youth, including marginalization, employment, sustainable livelihoods, education, skills development, health, youth participation, national youth policy, peace and security, law enforcement, and youth with disabilities.
