Survey on data protection for children
Torsten Krause, SDCThe Indian organisation CUTS International (Consumer Unity & Trust Society) is currently conducting a survey on the topics of data protection and behavioural analysis of young users in the digital environment. A short online survey asks for opinions and assessments on nine aspects. It will take around 10 minutes to answer the questions. The survey can be accessed via this link until 23 August.
The background to the survey is the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act. This was passed in summer 2023 and also regulates the handling of children's data in the digital environment. The Indian government is currently developing recommendations on how to implement the provisions. In this context, CUTS International is determining how the relationship between data protection and behavioural analysis of young users in the digital environment is considered. Feedback from people in the field of children's rights and/or data protection who are not familiar with the specific situation in India is also expressly welcome.
