Consultation on the IGF framework paper

Torsten Krause, SDC

The 18th Internet Governance Forum (IGF) took place in Kyoto (Japan) in October 2023. Under the motto "The Internet we want - empowering all people", over 9,000 representatives from politics, business, academia and civil society discussed how to further shape the Internet and digital applications. The Annual Meeting Summary Report on the IGF 2023 can be read here.

Following the conference the IGF Leadership panel published a draft framework paper addressing the conclusions of the event to governments as well as the private sector, civil society, technical and academic communities. The paper emphasises the importance of governance of the Internet for economic, social and sustainable development as well as the role of cooperation between all stakeholders for the successful realisation of the aim "The Internet we want".

The framework paper of the IGF Leadership panel can still be commented on until 1 March 2024 on this page.
